The Need for a Licensing Plan
When applying for a Premises Licence in England and Wales, you need to submit a detailed plan of the premises along with your application. This plan must meet specific requirements to ensure it provides a clear and comprehensive overview of the venue. Here are the key elements that must be included:
Boundaries and Points of Access:
- Clearly mark the boundaries of the premises.
- Indicate all points of access and egress, including doors, gates, and emergency exits.
Internal Layout:
- Show the layout of the premises, including the location of walls, partitions, and fixed structures.
- Identify areas where licensable activities will take place, such as bars, stages, and dance floors.
Facilities and Amenities:
- Include the location of toilets, kitchens, and other facilities.
- Mark any raised areas, such as stages or platforms.
Safety Features:
- Highlight the location of fire safety equipment, such as extinguishers and alarms.
- Show escape routes and assembly points in case of an emergency.
Scale and Measurements:
- The plan should be drawn to scale, with the scale clearly indicated.
- Include measurements to provide a sense of the size and layout of the premises.
Additional Details:
- Any other relevant features, such as outdoor areas, smoking zones, or areas where alcohol will be consumed.
These requirements help ensure that the licensing authority has a clear understanding of the premises and can assess the suitability of the venue for the proposed licensable activities.
