What Is National Pubwatch?

Here at The Licensing Guys, we fully support National Pubwatch!  National Pubwatch was established to support existing Pubwatch schemes and encourage the creation of new ones. Its primary aim is to help reduce alcohol-related crime and disorder by fostering cooperation between licensees, Local Authorities, and Police.

It does not manage or accredit local schemes directly, but instead provides:

• Guidance and resources for local Pubwatch groups
• Training materials and good practice guides
• Annual conferences and Awards
• Support for legal and data protection compliance.

What Is a Pubwatch Scheme?

A Pubwatch scheme is a local partnership of licensees who work together to:

1. Share information about individuals causing trouble
2. Ban disruptive individuals from multiple venues
3. Collaborate with police and licensing officers
4. Promote the four licensing objectives, especially the prevention of crime and disorder.

These schemes are run by pub owners, NOT the Police, although they are often supported by local enforcement agencies.
