If you’ve moved house and your Personal Licence still shows your old address, it’s important to update it as soon as possible. Under the Licensing Act 2003, Personal Licence Holders are legally required to keep their Licence details up to date – including their name and address.

Your Personal Licence is a legal document. If the details are incorrect, it could cause issues during inspections, job applications, or when applying for a Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS) role.
Failing to update your address may be seen as non-compliance and could affect your standing with the Licensing Authority.
What You Need to Do:
You must notify the original Council that issued your Licence—not your new local authority, even if you’ve moved to a different area or abroad. Their name will be printed on your licence card.
Most councils provide a “Change of Name or Address” form on their website. You’ll need to fill this out and return it with:
Lost One or Both Parts? Do not despair…! If you’ve lost either part of your licence, explain this on the form. Submit whatever you still have and provide a brief explanation of what happened.

You don’t need to send new photos, training certificates, or a DBS check for this update.
