Temporary Event Notice

Size: Your event can have up to 499 people (including staff) on your premises at any one time, and can last no more than 168 hours (7 days). Number of Notices: If you do NOT hold a Personal Licence, can apply for up to 5 TENs per year. However, if you hold a personal licence you can apply for up to 50 TENs per year. One Premises (i.e. location) can have 15 Temporary Events per year, covering 21 calendar days. This covers the eventuality where a particular event involves two days e.g. starts before but finishes after midnight. Application Process: You need to submit the TEN to your local council at least 10 working days before the event for a Standard TEN and 5 working days before the event for a Late TEN. ONLY the Police and Environmental Health Department can object to a TEN, and if either bodies object to a ‘Late’ TEN, then there is no possibility of a Hearing to resolve their concerns, so the Event cannot go ahead.
